A buddy and I are considering getting up on a Saturday to see if we can get this. Aside from the Wii itself, what other accessories would I need? I'll be interested in the exercise routine/program.

Don,

Depends on who will be using it. The wii-fit comes with an 'ok' program (though the hula-hoop is OUTRAGEOUSLY FUNNY when watching someone else do it..) There are several 'workout' games and some 'action' (skiboard) games.

Accesories needed? The 'sports pack' is a must have..comes with really good games (bowling and tennis) and an extra controller. Nintendo nickel and dimes you by making you buy the wii controller AND nunchuck AND old school controller for different games. You wind up with as much in the controllers as the console (we have 4 kids). The included IR bar is ok...but one of the enhanced wireless ones are MUCH better (another $30-$40). That's about ALL you need to get started.
We got the "Iron Chef" game (my wife was a pastry chef for 25 years) and it was a simple but fun to play. Carnival games is fun too.
