I find the obsession with Fox odd and can only figure it is due to their "conservative" bent, while the "liberal" press is given a pass.

The "liberal press" as you put it is nothing like Fox. Fox News is simply a propaganda organization for the republican party. They are NOT a news organization. There may be biases in other networks but they still function largely as news organizations rather than mouthpieces. All of Fox's programs are designed solely to advance the republican cause. They have made a ton of factual errors in their so called "news" segments, every single one slanted to make repubs look good or dems look bad and I am unaware of anybody on there being disciplined in the way that the CBS staff was when they effed up. People are obsessed with Fox because 1) they consistently lie; and 2) their propaganda is so effective that they have captured a huge audience.
