The Economist definitely comes out on the side of economic conservatism (well, conservative by European standards, which is the region they're based out of and primarily cover). They're a capitalist/business publication, after all. When they cover social issues I don't usually find them very conservative.

I did a lot of travellng last year, so The Economist was my constant companion on the various flights I took here, there, and everywhere. It would usually take me a good cross-country flight in order to finish up a single issue.
