After this, I'm thinking that the new 2004 timeline we're seeing is where unLocke will be taking those who choose to go with him. A classic 'deal with the devil' scenario. They'll all get what they've been wishing for, but it will turn to ashes in their hands.
Dogen will be back, I suspect Sayid not only knows it, but is planning on it.
So at the moment, Sayid, Claire, Sawyer and Kate are with unLocke, Hurley and Jack are with Jacob, and the wildcards are Jin ( I guess he took Claire to the Temple entrance and then…what?), Miles, Frank Lapidus, Sun, Ben (for now), and Ilana.
Of course I suspect some of the people with unLocke are only biding their time and have their own agendas.
MAJOR a**kicking tonight. Dogen. Sayid. Smokey.
Ben looked like he was going to plotz when he came upon Sayid at the pool and Sayid told him there was no hope for him.
I am really loving the pace of this season. If the season was just a plodding checklist of answers to The Questions, it would be enjoyable, but nowhere near as elegant and complete as what we're getting now.
The answers are coming, slowly, but at the same time they're still managing to continue embroidering the fantastic tapestry they've created over the years. It's just a fantastic ride. So far, I'd say it's the best finale season of any of the 'epic saga' series that I've watched; Twin Peaks (very good, but too soon), Alias (good, but not great), Babylon 5 (Very good, but understated), The X-Files (A great series with a very disappointing final run).
For those worried about getting "enough" answers, I would say hang in there. There are twelve episodes left. That's the equivalent of a six movie franchise worth of story left.
