The goals of the Great Jihad are not to 'stop the attacks' or 'close Gitmo'. The goals of the Great Jihad are to attain worldwide Islam and Shariah law, with the accompanying destruction of all non-Islam nations, religions, and peoples.

The only way we can 'stop creating terrorists' is if we all dropped dead.
