Moving iPod from PC to Mac...

My daughter is waiting on her iBook to come (yes, we bought a used iBook w/warranty intact instead of a new MacBook). Anyway, she needs some info on relocating her iPod to her iBook from our PC. How does she do this? Do we need firewire? We are new to Macs as it is so this is something we need to work out.
