I basically have two email addresses I use on a regular basis: my fastmail address is my primary address that's tied to just about everything. If one were to google my fastmail address, they would find many links pointing back to me, including my full name, what my profession is, etc. From that info, I'm sure someone could find out my home address, etc.
I also have a gmail address. That's the address I use for craigslist transactions and I do A LOT of buying and selling on CL. As you know, CL is littered with unsavory types and that's why I use my gmail address. If one were to google my gmail address, there's not much info they'd be able to find out about me EXCEPT that it links back to my Google Profile (first hit in fact).
Obviously, therein lies the dilemma. I'd like my Google Profile to reflect who I really am, with my real name, etc., but only if there's a way so that it is in no way connected back to my gmail address (at least via google searches, etc.) or vice versa.
As it is right now, I just have a fake name listed in my Google Profile and have not filled my profile up with anymore personal information.
Any suggestions?
