Nobody in the world moves as much as Americans do. People may not be loading up the wagons anymore but the pioneer mentality is still the hallmark of this country. That is why the country is so evenly developed. You can find all basic services in the most remote parts.

The only explanation for an unemployed person to refuse a $10/hr job is that they are making more than that as unemployed. The coal miner example I gave pretty much shots down the argument that Americans won't do hard work if the pay is right.
