John Dough was kind enough to post a link for a deal on a 5 lbs. digital scale. Here is the original thread:
I ordered two and they just arrived today. The scale is definitely a 5 lb scale and is sturdier than I anticipated. It does not have a USB port.
I tested the scale by weighing several items that I have an exact weight for and confirmed its accuracy. It's as accurate as the scale built into the automated postal center at the post office across the street from my office. The tare system works as advertised as does the hold weight system. The display is easy to read and using the scale itself a no-brainer.
The display has a charge indicated so you'll always know how much juice is left in the batteries and when they require replacement. My ops guy tossed some alkaline batteries into it. Next stage is to see how it handles NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries. Some items do fine with NiMH rechargeable batteries. Others, not so well. I'll let you know what happens.
Definitely a good purchase, especially at that price.
