what about linkedin.com?

I've been on linked in for a while but I don't like the interface and it doesn't seem very useful to me. I joined the linked in versions of a couple of my regular professional societies which seems to have done nothing but result in a lot of emails from people looking for jobs. Most of them are junior level and many of them are from other countries. Some of that stuff looks like spam. So far I've been totally unimpressed with linked in.
