Ebay wants to buy me a beer and talk things over
#1
I got this email today:

Hi there!

My name is Jack, and I'd like to invite you to a round of drinks on eBay tonight at the Pre-Flite lounge tonight at 7:30 pm (http://www.preflitelounge.com/). Apologies for the short notice, but I'm making an impromptu trip to Sacramento and would very much like to meet all of you.

Would very much like to learn more about what you do, and ideas you might have about some exciting initiatives that my group, eBay Classifieds (http://www.ebayclassifieds.com), is planning for Sacramento this year. Sharon Guldner was kind enough to share your contact information with me.

So feel free to swing by anytime between 7:30 pm to closing. I'll be wearing a red waterproof jacket, so hopefully that will make me easy to find Smile

Jack

This was followed by his full name, title, cell phone # and skype #

Looks legit, but odd. I have no interest in driving all the way into town for free drinks. I think I would if it was NOT from the eBay Classifieds dept - I don't really care how they implement things, but I'd LOVE to give the ebay.com people an earful.

Has anyone seen aniything like this? I searched hard, but couldn't find anything scammy EXCEPT the fact that the only communication I had with Sharon Guldner was contact from her regarding Ebay Trading Assistant which ended up being nothing but a conduit for scammers to contact ebay sellers directly. I opted the fick outta there. One very clever fellow - a guy that set up NUMEROUS shady websites for get rich schemes and various scamms contacted me many times - even after I opted out. He's local - I wonder if this might be a LARGE elaborate one-off local scam. Dunno... not going...
