Certainly looks like all involved made damn sure this was the end of the road this time. ( with an identifiable body)
My money is on assuming he was there by tracking for months the people coming and going, especially family members.
Actually, from the analysis i've read it seems that we weren't certain that Osama bin Laden was actually there until we found and killed him. This uncertainty was part of what delayed the operation, but for some reason or another President Obama decided that the evidence was sufficient to send in the Seals. I suspect that he was (understandably) concerned that OBL might have been surrounded by women and children, and a bloodbath could be a terrible outcome. It seems only one woman was killed (and several more injured) in this raid.
