You are damn sure I did. Just watch these jerks. You can just hear it in their voices. We are hispanics and we dare you lay a finger on us. I practically broke into applause when police finally acted. Start at minute 3. Curious what you think.

Interesting video, Dakota. I didn't really hear what you did about ethnicity; to me, it seemed more like two young anti-authoritarian guys pressing their luck with cops. It seems clear they intended to be difficult, which though not illegal, is generally unwise when dealing with the police. I think the cops handled themselves pretty well; it must be frustrating to deal with insubordination like that, especially from youngsters. Checkpoints have been ruled constitutional several times, and when a police officer in California asks you to identify yourself, by law you must do so. Since when driving a car you must have a license, police can require a driver to produce a valid license at a checkpoint. It seems unlikely to me that these two guys would have opened the door for the police voluntarily, so i don't think it's reprehensible that they broke the window.
It's really best to know the law, and if you decide to break it, to be prepared to deal with the consequences.
