Why would Skype suggest an update that isn't compatible with my current OS?
#10
Add Tweetdeck to the list of applications that will pull that trick, up to installing the update and then automatically relaunching and failing to load with a cryptic error message that doesn't give you any idea the problem is that the new version is Intel only.

"Boom", an audio file volume boosting app, is currently prompting me to install an update that installs, relaunches, gives an error message warning of a bad install that's missing components, then opens the application anyway. It's a known problem according to their site and they claim a new version of the update solves the problem. Tried it. Same problem. Site says to e-mail them if you still have a problem. E-mailed them and never heard back.

I've since adopted the system - requirements -before - download philosophy for any non-Apple updates.
