So...my HR person gave my cell phone # to a fellow employee...
#17
It's my personal number I've had for years. I give it out sparingly and at MY choosing. I'd given it to HR when I was involved in a test group when our company was switching to a new software package nearly a year ago. (The test group members were "on call" one weekend for when the next phase of testing was ready.)
I asked the coworker how they got my number and they told me. When I asked the named (HR) person if they had any idea how this person came by my number, she said, "noooo..."
The reason HR Lady gave the number might have been valid. (I was returning to work to meet my coworker because she was adopting a kitten I've been fostering.) From my point of view, HR Lady should have called me herself to pass along the message OR called to ask if it was okay to give out my number.
And not lied about it. I'll never trust anything from her mouth again.
