Lion can troubleshoot and reinstall without a CD

Wait, I just had a wild thought -- aren't the hard drives in the new iMac shipped with an altered connector and special Apple firmware? What if this restore partition is going to be a part of Apple firmware (like those Western Digital passport drives) and Apple's vision is that since you have to buy a replacement hard drive from them (not for the legacy Macs, all the new ones we buy in the next 3 years), they'll have the restore partition already on them, ergo no issue with hard drive replacement and no boot disk. (The older Macs can boot/install off cd that came with their computer and then upgrade).

Probably. And instead of paying $89 for a replacement 2tb drive like the rest of the world, we'll get the privilege of spending $189 for the special Apple Only Super Secret version. Plus another $100 to install it b/c you shouldn't be allowed to do that either.
