We were drycamping on a plateau overlooking a dam in Wyoming a few years ago. There were 7 rigs, all Lazy Daze (Lazy Daze are aluminum bodies, not fiberglass). There was an amazing lightshow going on (it was the 4th of July), and we had a great view. After the fireworks ended, a huge storm came through and we could see lightning all around us for miles.
All of a sudden, the lighning hit right in the middle of where we were all parked, LOUD and very bright, but fortunately it didn't hit any of us.
Did scare us a lot though.
And there was a burn mark in the dirt with a few small melted rocks the next day.
Close as I ever want to come, although I have heard of a few RVs getting hit, with lots of electrical damage. We have a whole house surge protector on the rig, and apparently, rigs equipped with one suffer less damage than those without, but it's still pretty ugly.
