That doesn't mean your speeds are fast, it actually means your speeds are slow enough to not saturate your WiFi. To be fair, 5 GHz 802.11n is pretty fast and even 2.4 GHz 802.11n is faster than most people's internet speeds. If you only have an 802.11b connection, that actually makes your speeds fairly slow. Even my Comcast connection could saturate my old 802.11g connection when speed boosting, 802.11b would have severely throttled the available speed. You dig?
I am running a b network on an original base station. this makes me wonder if my cable connection could be faster if I upgraded that finally. I have never known what to buy, and the new Extreme base stations seem far too expensive. In any case, I should run a cable and see what my connection tests at that way (and no, it isn't going to be FiOS).
