I like it. And use it, mostly when referring to something specific in question, as opposed to a generic catch-all phrase. To wit -
Craigslist Potential Buyer: Aww, it's only an i5? I really wanted an i7.
Craigslist Seller: It is what it is, man.
Craigslist Potential Buyer: Aww, it's only an i5? I really wanted an i7.
