I remember playing "The Art of War" my friend's Mac in his basement in 1986. It was my first introduction to a mouse. Shortly after that, I took my first computer class in high school using an Apple IIc.
In 1988 I bought my first Mac for college: a SE. In a year or two, I sent my first e-mail and listened to my first sound file on a NeXT in my school's computer lab (I also viewed my first piece of internet PRoN via a Mac IIci, but that's a tale for a different day).
In the 1990s when everyone thought that Windows was the next best thing and Michael Dell recommended liquidating Apple and selling it back to shareholders, I was a lonely Mac holdout (although OS 8.x was giving me fits).
I bought my first iPod in 2003 and it is still going strong to this day.
In retrospect, a large majority of my digital gadgets were directly inspired by Steve Jobs. He will be missed. I haven't been this sad since Joe Strummer died :-(
Here's a link to an earlier "First Mac OS" thread.
