The point/benefit of Disc Inventory X is that large files or folders taking up unexpected amounts of space jump out at you visually. Did that happen? Is all the used space accounted for?
Yes, but I also got that in Grand Perspective. It was much easier in Grand Perspective to see what those files were, because pointing to one immediately told me the file name. Trying to do that with more than a couple of files in Disk Inventory X was an exercise in frustration.
What I noticed most was the huge space taken up by Epson printer profiles. Will probably spend some more time with it once I've figured out why the Finder is not recognizing free space on the drive correctly.
I did like that DIX can show the free space along with the used space. However, because something is wrong with the directory, DIX only shows the approximately 4 GB of free space, not the full amount that should show up.
