A lot of bands and performers can't figure out when to quit.
The Rolling Stones last album should have been Some Girls, or possibly Tattoo You.
You shouldn't quit what you love to do. The Rolling Stones has given so much top quality entertainment to the world that we should be grateful for the great work that we got. It's their right to suck too and continue to ply their trade. My all-time favorite is Stevie Wonder, but he's been mostly irrelevant to me since around 1982 or so (he changed his singing key). He doesn't owe me anything though. He floored me from "Music of my Mind" through "Hotter than July." A stretch of raw awesomeness that causes my cup to continue to runneth over.
