I was thinking today about our numerous discussions regarding power and heat during an outage. I remembered two things that may be helpful.
The first was an article I read advising that power and heat be limited to a single room of the house as that would minimize resources needed. That makes sense to me with the possible exception of preventing pipes from bursting if things got REALLY cold.
The other thing I remember was a propane heater intended for tents which sounds insane BUT the heater sits outside the tent, blows hot air inside, so there is no safety issue. Something like that could be used to heat a single room of a home in an emergency.
