Laptop on an airplane? Carryon?

I haven't flown for at least 2-3 years and don't believe I've taken my laptop with me. However, I'm heading to Denver this weekend. Taking a small carryon with my clothing, my jacket and want to take my laptop. The question is... What are the rules for the laptop cases? I have about a 10 year Targus case... Laptop on one side and "files" on other side.
Any rules? Size limitations? |
