SSD for iMac Core 2 Duo (2006)
#1
A client wants to pass on an older iMac for his son and he was concerned about the longevity of that computer. Since he has not used it in over a year (he turned it on this morning and it booted without issue) and has not used it very much since 2010, I think that most parts have little use and should last a while. That said, he asked about an SSD and which one would work well in that model. The HD interface is SATA I but I know that a SSD would be faster than his current HD…right?

Anyhow, are there any SSDs to avoid with that model? I read that the SanDisk Extreme is finicky with some Macs and I want to open that machine once (if at all possible).
