Politics aside, this never should have happened.
He's simply too freaking old.
My uncle lasted nearly 20 years with his heart transplant.
Cheney's advanced age and prior health issues mean he'll get more on the order of 20 months.
A younger person could have made far better use of such a scarce medical resource.
