Adding SSD to Late-2007 MBP? Advice/experience requested
#13
just did this today with a 3,1 MBP 17" from that era. 10.6.8.
Pretty fast in and out as well as a 4G ram upgrade. 20 mins or so.

I used the OWC 3G

Their video was good.

I installed the OS from an external FW with target mode to make sure all was well. (I think my DVD slot is going bad).
I then used CCC to transfer my old partitions to the new partitions. About 35 mins I think.
So far so good.
Start-up is now :30 from 1:00 plus. Overall running cooler and less fan time.

Careful keeping track of the various screws during disassembly.
I used multiple containers.
Make sure to use a static band. A spudger helps.
There were a couple places where my aging eyes were working hard.
