HDMI not permitted on TiVo , AV Receiver, TV, for a second or two
#3
Is the TiVo set to use multiple output formats/auto-detect (i.e. 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, depending on content)?

If it is, try using only one (i.e. 720p if you have a 720p set or 1080i if you have a 1080p set) and letting the TiVo handle the conversion.

Note that 1080p is only for pass-through of online content (i.e. Netflix), but keeping 1080i and 1080p checked may still cause the signal to drop out when switching channels, which may be causing the loss of HDMI connectivity.

I keep my TiVo set to 1080i all the time. When I had it set for multiple formats, it would take a couple seconds when switching channels to sort out the new output format. I didn't lose HDMI connectivity, but I could see that happening, depending on the receiver and/or TV.
