Most big resorts in Mexico ESPECIALLY those on the beach, have reverse osmosis water desalinators. See if your family doc will write a script for several courses of generic ciprofloxin (enough for the whole family), or some other broad spectrum antibiotic. That and get a bottle of generic anti-diarrheal meds from Costco or Sam's Club.

I don't worry about it much. I vacation in Mexico most years, and the 2 times I have picked up a bug, I was upright again in a day. People who get wiped out and have a vacation ruined just aren't prepared.
