For my dough they died about Tommy-ish. That's when Townsend started listening to the people who told him he was a "genius".

Before that, they were a killer band that played 3 minute songs, every second of which was important.

"Pictures of Lily", Substitute", "Magic Bus" etc....you compare that to "Who Are You" and the dross that followed. I'm sorry, I've been a Who fan since 1965, by 1970 they were done.

Don't feel bad, a lot of bands nosed over then, the Rolling Stones after "Gimme Shelter" The Faces, etc etc.
