Sekker, the things you mention are minor. As a MBPR owner I can say I absolutely love it.
Magnificent screen, Super fast, Great battery life, Doesn't get hot, Light weight, etc.
1. Audio input - non issue.
2. Ethernet port - I agree; it would be nice, but the bottom case would have to be thicker. I have the adapter.
3. Firewire - non issue, I have the adapter.
4. Glossy - Matte - I think this display is perfect.
5. Upgradeability - I bought it with 16GB of RAM because of that. If it's a big deal for you get the old unibody model.
6. Magsafe - I agree the magnet could be stronger, but I'm already used to this one - no problem.
7. No IR remote - who cares
8. No external battery charge indicator - who cares
I did take an extra day deciding between the regular model and the Retina, and made the right choice for me.
What would I change? Add one more Thunderbolt and one or two more USB3.
Also, make Apple RAM and SSDs cheaper.
