battery capacity in iOS
#1
is there a program that will report battery capacity for iPad or iPhone? you know, in OS X you look in System Profiler, or you use an Application such as coconutBattery and you know if your battery is healthy, how many cycles, what capacity is left, etc. I have not been able to find something similar for iOS yet. about a year or so ago I even bought 3-4 apps at $1-2 each and all they do is report how much longer the iPhone will run if you turn off WiFi or ho long you can talk on 3G and 4G and other nonesense like that. What I really need to know is what is the current capacity of the battery, and what was the original (spec) capacity when the device was new.

case in point: iPad 4 from December 2012. so it's about 18 month old. When it was new it seemed to go the full day without recharge. now we need to recharge it at least once per day and it is still empty in the evening. Seems like the battery capacity is about half of what it was before. I would like to see some numbers though.

Apple says they repair defective batteries, especially since the device is still under AppleCare+, but how do they define defective battery?

BTW: one Macbook (2007 model I think) had 1150 cycles on the battery when I sold it 4 years later and it was still at 90% of the original capacity.
