This Forum is a Mac/Apple-oriented community bulletin board. That's why I like it. I vote for keeping it as it is.
I have explained before, I don't go to the political side because I just don't have the time. I'm one of those obsessives who won't let go of a controversial topic when faced with opposition, and given that I'm in the political minority here, there's a lot of opposition over there.
There is a reason why the generation before mine (and mine is older than I like to admit) used to "avoid discussing politics and religion." They easily lead to fights and name-calling. The only way to maintain such a forum is to strictly enforce rules of civility: no ad-hominem attacks, no swearing, no rudeness. That means moderation in spades. If volunteers can't keep the denizens on "the other side" in line, then maybe the solution is to close that side down and just keep the "tips and deals [etc.]" side the way it is.
