Hi Space,
I'm guessing this is in response to my inquiry about getting an Australian version of an ibook that hasn't been released in the US. I have no issue paying for both a hardcopy and digital copy of a book. If nothing else, it ensures the author is compensated appropriately.
In the case of my inquiry, it was because I don't know when or even if the book I wanted will be published in the US either in hardcopy or digitally. It's hung up at the publisher right now. I can get a hardcopy from Amazon.co.uk easily enough. But, I'd rather have a digital copy I can throw on my ipad and the only ones I can get right now are illegitimate copies.
The author in question is by far my favorite author and the book is part of a storyline that has spanned 30+ years. It's very important to me to support his efforts. Downloading an illegitimate copy is unacceptable to me. I'll buy the UK version of the book and download the ebook when it arrives in the US. Eventually.
Robert
