i think both tiffs and pdfs are good to scan, they share almost same level of image quality and searchablity. if you need to employ one or another , you can use some image converter to transfer them. I do this almost daily. I use an image converter driver found on the internet . Install it and it becomes a selectable converter option.Then you can convert tiffs to many forms in any program at all, including Adobe Acrobat . Just open a tiff , select convert, and choice a form you want, the task of converting tiff to pdf and vice versa will be finished in several seconds. if you haven´t found a good choice , you can have a try. best wishes.
