Decided to take the door off the original medicine cabinet in my 1920 house and strip the paint off it.
There were at least five or six coats of paint ... I did over five complete strippings with high test liquid stripper. The original and last coat of paint was some very thick tan stuff--was almost like armor, must have been some lead based paint put on before 1945.
Whether it was all worth it or not I don't yet know. I hate using chemical stripper. But the wood revealed underneath all that paint has absolutely beautiful grain.
