Thanks, Rhonda. I was hoping I could avoid that. However, it looks like I'm not limited to number of numbers per contact. So I think I could just make a Spam contact instead of a Spam group, and then assign the ringtone to the contact.
Carm, the problem with your scenario is that I occasionally get calls from potential new clients. I'd definitely want to answer them. But 99.9% of the spam calls I get are from outside my area code, so I ignore them, look up the number, learn that it's a telemarketer, and I'd like to assign that silent tone.

Looks like Gareth was posting while I was writing. That may be the answer. And as nearly everyone has discovered, the Do Not Call Registry is pretty much useless. I've been on there since it started. Robocallers don't abide by it, that's for sure.

Wish I had asked this question months ago. It worked. I now have a contact named Spam, with about 20 numbers (so far), to which has been assigned a silent ringtone and no vibration. Thanks!
