We, too, love our Panasonic Plasma.
We probably should keep our eye out for a close-out deal on plasmas this year. 4K content is too many years away, and the plasma is so much nicer than our LCD (or any LCD I've seen).
We did not have the Rainbow effect as far as I can see - if it's there, it doesn't bother us.
Our model is 5 years old, we just use it as a monitor and 2D, however.
