how do you change the cabin air filter in an Honda Odyssey? do you really have to "cut this piece"?

Ha. He says you only need to cut it "the first time you do it." :-)

This must have changed by 2003 because I finally caved when my shop showed me the dirty cabin filter when I was having a few minor things done before a long trip. Don't think they cut it just to show me.
