I personally blame Jenny McCarthy and Andrew Wakefield for this. She has no medical training, and he has been stripped of his medical license. Unfortunately, the damage has been done, with the help of Oprah Winfrey, who gave her a platform to speak on. I'm curious what McCarthey is going to say about this when she starts on The View. Not curious enough to start watching it, though.

My daughter has not had the MMR vaccine, but that is b/c she had an anaphylactic reaction just after leaving her 1 year old well-child check-up and receiving the chicken pox vaccine. They have similar preservatives (NOT Thimerosal) and her allergist could not isolate which one caused her throat to close off. We always figured that she would be fine due to herd effect. However, with more people not vaccinating their kids, it is becoming more of a concern.
