MacBook Air SSD crash & burn...4 days out of warranty

Here's the update:

Did a lot of scrambling to get a bootable 10.8 disk to start up the MBA and install and update Disk Warrior.

It turned out that the only backup I had was the original Time Machine backup done the day of purchase. With DW, the directory was rebuilt enough to mount a preview image of the SSD. That allowed me to copy the last years worth of Documents and Downloads that are not on the cloud. It could not locate the Mail folder needed to back up email...so that last year is likely gone but not mission critical.

^ This makes me remember that I searched for some emails yesterday and several seemed to have vanished.

The installed SSD is the Toshiba 128. My friend that is an Apple employee is confident that they will bend on the date for this one. Appointment at the Genius Bar tomorrow....
