Best thermometer?

I realize this may be one of those items that are all kind of the same, but thought I'd take a chance and see if anyone here has a thermometer they're really excited about. Doesn't matter whether digital or.... uh analog? Just as long as it's accurate (easy to read in low light would be nice too.) Need it for monitoring the temp in basement and checking tenant apartment to make sure the furnace is cutting it.
