There are many places in life to save money, but tires on my wife's car are not one I would ever consider. Given the serious consequences of a flat or blowout (which I experienced as a young man driving on cheap tires) I have always bought Michelin's for any car in our family and sleep soundly knowing I have taken care of my responsibilities. Saving a few bucks on tires could conceivably turn out to be one of the worst decisions of your life if something goes wrong. Our highways are dangerous enough without tossing questionable tires into the mix.
