Need New Tires for 2007 Grand Caravan... Used?
#13
Space,

Tortoise said it better than I ever could. My thoughts echo his but I'll say it a little differently. Not a chance. I don't skimp on tires. I don't even by based on a favorite brand. I carefully research and pick and choose based on the car, driving style and expected weather conditions. If that means the tires of choice are from Michelin, so be it. If the tire of choice is from Goodyear or some other company, that's the tire.

I don't look forward to replacing the tires on my '09 CX-7. I've got less than 25K miles on the car and know the tires will be expensive. Definitely don't relish the thought of dropping hundreds of dollars on new tires. But, at the rate I'm going, they'll suffer deterioration from age before the tread wears to the point that it's time to replace them. Same goes for my wife's '07 Yaris. It has the original tires and even less mileage than my car! At least tires for her car aren't going to require a mortgage. Smile

But, when the time comes to replace the tires on both vehicles, brand-new and only brand-new. Used tires wouldn't even cross my mind.

FWIW, the last time I had to put tires on a car, it was for a Crown Vic police interceptor. I chose Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires for it based on reviews and recommendations from Tire Rack . Excellent tires and an awesome match for that car. Funny as these particular tires were commonly found on Mustangs and similar vehicles. Definitely not a common tire to see on a Crown Vic. The Firehawks replaced Goodyear Aquatread tires which were positively horrible. Loved the Firehawk Indy 500 tires. No clue what the tires of choice will be for the CX-7 or the Yaris.
