Looking to replace Mrs. Buzz's aging XP laptop (Compaq Evo - really nice back in its day) w/ a Win7 Pro equivalent in a 14"-15" form factor. Not gonna be lugged around much, so netbook/ultrabook need not be considered critical. Have been eyeing 2.4GHz i5 Dell Latitude E6410 for about $250, and comparable Asus and Lenova Thinkpad offereings, all w/ 4GB RAM and 160GB - 250GB hard drives. We've squeezed about 12 years out of the Compaq, and it still runs in its own unsupported fashion, but it's time to replace. She has a company issued W8 phablet, which is OK in a pinch, but we have printing (and lack of real keyboard) issues, and she hates W8. I'm not up to speed on W7P gear, so need advice to make a proper spousal unit pleasing choice. Thanks. That $250 range feels about right, otherwise if it creeps up from there she'll have to convert to a C2D MBP which opens another can of worms moving her data.
