Best wireless AC router?

I went ahead and got an AC router (D-Link 1200AC), and while it works fine, the AC component has a flaw in that performance drops significantly without line-of-sight access (e.g., through walls). If I sit in my living room with the router, I get great performance, but if I am on the other side of the wall in the bedroom (actually closer to the router), I get poor performance.

YMMV, but keep in mind there are some issues.
