My first bike had fat tires. It was a 24", single speed, traditional American bike with a coaster brake. I was about 7, and it was too big for me. I got on it and headed down the hill—and ended up inside a large sewer pipe by the side of the road.
Something like this:
Nothing like the fancy machines today.
We moved out to the country when I was 10, and I got an red English-style 3-speed bike with caliper brakes and narrow tires. I rode that one all over the back roads.
