Two weeks ago, I generated the code from the site recommended by Article Accelerator, posted it here and asked people with smartphones to check that it worked, then I had the panels printed. Is there some further step I should have taken?

That link was the second of two I mentioned in my first posting. I followed up with a second posting to your original thread to point out that the first link I recommended required no registration and allowed you to create QR codes in many formats including EPS and SVG.
