You just have to be accurate enough to hit 'em in the head w/ every shot if you use a decent pellet gun... and once you're a good enough shot, you can probably even get by w/ a .177 cal. pellet gun as long as it's got some oomph. If you're not a really good shot, then as noted, other options are probably a better choice.

How can you be "inaccurate" with the end of the barrel 4 inches away trapped in a havahart trap ?
6 shots straight to the head and it was still grunting: pissed-off.
