I think you would have no trouble wearing bi-focals, but if you don't want to try anything new, I would understand.

The line in the bifocals becomes invisible in just a day or two. I had to wear bi-focals when I was in second grade, and mine were the split right across the middle kind. After a day or two, I could not see the line, even if I tried.

It's not that I don't want to try anything new, it's just that I'm heading into the 6th week of trying to adapt to progressive lenses and I'm getting very tired of it. This second set of lenses have a worse "swim effect" than the first pair and consequently I'm getting more dizziness and and nauseousness from them which makes them more difficult to wear. On top of that and all the other visual distortions that are present I've gotten a headache every day of the week I've been trying to adapt them. I'd be happy if I could just get my money back but that's not possible.
